Everything you need to know

Is the toothbrush in the Travel-Set the same size as a regular toothbrush?

The toothbrush in the Curaprox Travel-Set is more compact than a traditional toothbrush and was specially designed for travelling. Thanks to its two-part design, it fits perfectly into the Travel-Set and helps your everyday oral care routine feel just as pleasant on the go as it does at home.

Are all Curaprox travel brush heads compatible with every Travel-Set?

Yes. All brush heads from the Curaprox Travel-Sets fit every Curaprox Travel-Set. You can therefore replace the brush head easily while continuing to use your existing handle and travel case.

How often and how long do I need to brush my teeth?

It is recommended to brush your teeth twice a day using a toothbrush with soft bristles and a gentle fluoride toothpaste. Remember to use also interdental brushes once a day—preferable before going to bed—to clean the gaps between your teeth. However, define the frequency and timing of interdental cleaning in accordance with your dental professional, adapted to your oral situation and individual needs. As for the recommended brushing time of at least two minutes each time: it is highly individual and certainly should not be limited to a fixed 2-minute rule. Please keep in mind that what matters most is that every surface of each tooth is thoroughly clean, which can take you longer than two minutes. So, you better focus on quality, not just on time.

How often to change manual toothbrush?

Replace your manual toothbrush every three to four months, even sooner if the bristles look worn or frayed. Regular replacing ensures the toothbrush remains effective at removing plaque and prevents the buildup of bacteria. Frayed bristles become less effective at cleaning teeth and removing plaque. Also replace your brush after recovering from a cold or flu, as bacteria can linger on the bristles and accumulate, especially in the moist environment of a bathroom. This may lead to reinfection or other oral health issues.

Keto diet: What is a ketogenic diet and what do you need to look out for?

Richtig Zähne putzen

Brushing teeth correctly

Every child knows that: Brushing your teeth is important. But are you actually brushing your teeth properly to remove plaque and to stop your gums receding? Why do we have to brush our teeth at all? What is the – scientifically-backed – best technique? And which mistakes should you avoid at all costs?

Die Geschichte der Zahnbürste und des Zähneputzens

The history of the toothbrush and tooth brushing

There used to be a widespread belief that tooth worms were the cause of tooth decay and toothache. Today we know better. And a lot has happened in between.

In this article you will find out, among other things, why people chewed special branches in earlier eras, why dental hygiene was reserved for the wealthy social classes for a long time and why Queen Elizabeth I with her pitch-black rotten teeth was considered an aesthetic role model in the United Kingdom.

But let's start with the very earliest beginnings of dental hygiene.
