The Black is white Set 90 ml combines full-size carbon toothpaste with a coordinated ultra-soft toothbrush for a complete everyday stain-care routine. The matched products clean plaque and absorb surface discolouration without relying on bleaching agents or harsh brushing pressure.

The toothpaste uses activated carbon, fluoride, hydroxyapatite and three enzymes to support gentle whitening, enamel care and the mouth's natural protective functions. It is free from SLS, triclosan, bleaching agents and plastic particles. The included toothbrush has 8,760 ultra-fine filaments, forming a dense cleaning surface that remains gentle on teeth and gums. Apply a small amount of toothpaste, brush with light pressure and complement the routine with daily interdental cleaning.

Everything you need to know

Why do soft bristles work?

Soft bristles have the clear advantage that they can individually embrace each tooth and clean it thoroughly. This allows them to reach areas that a hard toothbrush with rigid bristles can neither reach nor clean. In addition, our soft Curen® bristles are rounded at the top, protect the sensitive gums and do not scratch the enamel. With a soft toothbrush, there is no risk of damage or injury when brushing.

Fluoride or no fluoride – what’s the right choice?

The ingredient may be controversial for some people, but its effectiveness is undeniable. That’s why we say: go for a toothpaste that contains fluoride. This trace element has proven its worth in preventing cavities. It makes your teeth more resistant to acid attacks and prevents the proliferation of plaque bacteria.

How much fluoride?
In general, you find the fluoride content indicated in ppm (parts per million) on every toothpaste packaging. For adults, dental professionals suggest a toothpaste containing at least 1.000 ppm of fluoride. For younger children, it's best to opt for a children's toothpaste. All our toothpastes contain an age-appropriate amount of fluoride, with two exceptions: Enzycal zero and one of the kids' toothpastes.

Can activated charcoal damage teeth?

Depending on its formulation, activated charcoal can stress enamel. Black is white, however, was developed to remove surface stains particularly gently while remaining soft on enamel and gums.

Electric vs. manual toothbrush?

If you wonder whether a manual or an electric toothbrush is better: both are effective and allow a thorough clean when used properly. If you use an ultra-soft manual toothbrush correctly and combine it with interdentals, its cleaning efficacy is on a par with an electric model. However, electric toothbrushes are a good option for people with brackets, implants, or sensitive teeth and periodontitis. They offer a lot of comfort by eliminating the need for manual brushing and being gentle on both your teeth and gums—but they are not the time-savers some people hope for. It is still crucial to brush your teeth for a certain amount of time. Ideally, two to three minutes.

Do I even need toothpaste at all?

Brushing our teeth with toothpaste has become a mundane part of our life for most of us. But toothpaste is, indeed, an additive rather than an unavoidable step in our daily oral hygiene routine. But there are certain situations when using toothpaste can be very helpful. Our toothpastes contain vital ingredients called fluoride, enzymes, and valuable herbal ingredients that strengthen your tooth enamel, remineralise the teeth, boost the natural power of saliva, prevent cavities, and—depending on the type of toothpaste—can also assist in removing extrinsic teeth stains.

Does Black is white toothpaste stain sinks or toothbrushes?

Activated charcoal may temporarily leave dark residue behind. In most cases, however, it can simply be rinsed away.

Do these toothpastes work with electric toothbrushes?

Yes. All our toothpastes work wonderfully with both manual and electric toothbrushes. As they do not contain SLS, they do not foam that much. This means there is no foam that could cover the view of the teeth or hinder the mechanical cleaning process and the hydrodynamic effect.

How quickly will I see whitening results?

Depending on your starting point and everyday habits, first results may become visible after just a few applications. For best results, we recommend regular use.

Manual vs. electric toothbrush?

Which toothbrush is better? With the proper handling and technique, both a manual and an electric toothbrush can effectively clean teeth. It is your personal preference, then. With an electric toothbrush less physical effort is required, a good thing—especially for those with limited dexterity, braces, or specific dental conditions as it comes equipped with a motor that provide powerful brushing. Manual toothbrushes on the other hand, are a classic choice, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and bristle types so that they accommodate varied demands.

Does Black Is white toothpaste really whiten teeth?

Yes. Black is white gently removes surface stains caused by coffee, tea or smoking while enhancing the natural whiteness of your teeth.

How often and how long do I need to brush my teeth?

It is recommended to brush your teeth twice a day using a toothbrush with soft bristles and a gentle fluoride toothpaste. Remember to use also interdental brushes once a day—preferable before going to bed—to clean the gaps between your teeth. However, define the frequency and timing of interdental cleaning in accordance with your dental professional, adapted to your oral situation and individual needs. As for the recommended brushing time of at least two minutes each time: it is highly individual and certainly should not be limited to a fixed 2-minute rule. Please keep in mind that what matters most is that every surface of each tooth is thoroughly clean, which can take you longer than two minutes. So, you better focus on quality, not just on time.

Does Gentle Whitening really work?

Yes. Be you toothpaste gently removes surface stains caused by coffee, tea or smoking while helping bring out the natural whiteness of your teeth – gentle on enamel and gums.

Can a manual toothbrush clean between teeth?

Our short answer is: no. The surfaces of our teeth can be cleaned relatively easily and thoroughly with a soft, dense manual toothbrush. No matter which manual toothbrush you use, you can only clean 70% of your teeth's surfaces. For the rest—between your teeth— you'll need more specialised tools. That’s why we developed our fantastic interdental brushes with various sizes and colours for gaps with different dimensions. There’s perfect brush for every gap. If you have never used interdentals before, ask your dentist or dental hygienist. You can also get good advice at your local pharmacy.

Can whitening toothpaste damage enamel?

Some whitening toothpastes can stress enamel if they are too abrasive. Curaprox Be you toothpaste gently removes surface stains without aggressive abrasives or strong bleaching agents.

How often to change manual toothbrush?

Replace your manual toothbrush every three to four months, even sooner if the bristles look worn or frayed. Regular replacing ensures the toothbrush remains effective at removing plaque and prevents the buildup of bacteria. Frayed bristles become less effective at cleaning teeth and removing plaque. Also replace your brush after recovering from a cold or flu, as bacteria can linger on the bristles and accumulate, especially in the moist environment of a bathroom. This may lead to reinfection or other oral health issues.

Which Curaprox toothbrush suits me best?

The best Curaprox toothbrush for you depends on your personal needs and the brushing sensation you prefer. The CS 5460 ultra soft is our most popular everyday toothbrush and offers the perfect balance between gentleness and thorough cleaning. If you have especially sensitive gums, the CS 12460 Velvet provides an even softer brushing sensation. For braces or specific oral care needs, toothbrushes such as the CS ortho can be the ideal choice. All Curaprox toothbrushes provide a gentle and thorough clean while remaining exceptionally soft on gums.

How much toothpaste should I use?

For everyday brushing, a pea-sized amount of toothpaste is already enough.

Which Curaprox toothpaste is suitable for sensitive or irritated gums?

Curaprox offers several toothpastes for sensitive or irritated gums. Our Enzycal toothpastes are especially suitable. They help maintain the natural balance of the oral flora while cleaning particularly gently – ideal for the everyday care of sensitive gums.
